Press Release – June 2016
Stress free innovations.
Stressfree Marine, a nationally recognised brand in the marine market, has recently launched the latest evolution to their anchor winch range. Despite having a range of successful products on the market, this Lonsdale, South Australia based company continues to invest in research and development in their pursuit of a greater boating experience for their customers – and for their Founder, Dean Forster.
In the mid-1990s, when engineer and boating enthusiast Dean Forster conceived the idea of creating a faster and more accurate anchor winch, he was only thinking about one thing – catching more fish! Dean wanted a system that would allow him to release and retrieve his anchor much faster than he presently could, for quicker manoeuvrability. This led to the development of Stressfree Marine’s standard drum anchor winch range, and their patented Freefall range, featuring one-touch precision anchoring at five times the speed of standard winches.
In their most recent anchor winch developments, Stressfree Marine have continued to explore ways to increase safety, durability and functionality. By increasing the size of their superior satin finish 316L marine grade stainless steel base plate from 6mm to 8mm, Stressfree Marine has found a way to delivery an even higher level of stability in unpredictable weather conditions.
Further solidifying their lead with the highest torque gearbox on any drum winch, the Drive Shaft has increased from 18mm to 25mm, and the pivot bolt has been reengineered to deliver an extra 8mm of engagement. Choosing to use the Quick-50 series double anodised gearbox, has also increased protection against corrosion and salt water exposure.
Now available to their customers around Australia and the world, Stressfree Marine are already enjoying a strong demand from Dealers, Boat Builders and boat owners for their latest evolution of the anchor winch.
Amusingly they are also looking forward to the copy-cats that will enter the market now that they have launched these new developments. The company has found that their standard power Down/Up winches are the most copied on the market. “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery” says Director Shauna Forster, reminding the team at head office that competition is healthy, as it keeps them continually innovating.
